Switching ultrashort broadband radiation in fiber loop

Description
In this work the spectral and energetic characteristics of the ultrashort broadband radiation passing through the single and double fiber loops have been investigated. The spectral dependences of the transmission and reflection of a single fiber loop in the near-infrared region are studied. Relevant changes occurring in the connection of two identical single loops and formation of double loops are identified. Possibility of effective switching of ultrashort pulses in fiber interferometric devices due to the nonlinear refractive index (n2) is shown. These devices may be employed in high-speed broadband communications and information transmitting systems. (authors)
