Transport properties of Ca1-xMnO3-δ + xCeO2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15) mixtures

Description
The temperature dependences of the specific electric conductivity and thermo-electromotive force of the Ca1-xMnO3-δ + xCeO2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15) two-phase mixtures, formed at the intermediate stage of Ca1-xCexMnO3-δ solid solution formation, are studied. It is established, that electrical properties of the mixtures are determined by the properties of the Ca1-xMnO3-δ perovskite-type phase and depend on the Ca concentration. All the samples in the interval of 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15 are the n-type semiconductors. It is shown that the charge transport in the CaMnO3-δ may be explained on the account of the small radius polarons jumps. The conductivity by delocalized states is obvious prevailing at higher temperatures
Abstract (Russian)
Исследованы температурные зависимости удельной электропроводности и термо-э.д.с. двухфазных смесей Ca1-xMnO3-δ + xCeO2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15), образовавшихся на промежуточной стадии синтеза твердого раствора Ca1-xCexMnO3-δ. Найдено, что электрические свойства смесей определяются свойствами перовскитоподобной фазы Ca1-xMnO3-δ и зависят от концентрации Са. В интервале 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15 все образцы являются полупроводниками n-типа. Показано, что при Т < 930 K перенос заряда в CaMnO3-δ можно объяснить за счет прыжков поляронов малого радиуса. При более высоких температурах, по-видимому, преобладает проводимость по делокализованным состояниямAdditional details
