TL dating of Medieval pottery from North-East England using the pre-dose technique
Description
Our laboratory has, over the past three years, concentrated on the application of the pre-dose technique to dating Medieval pottery, Sherds were obtained from one particular monastic site which had produced a sequence of pottery considered to be from the middle Saxon period to the sixteenth century. Some thirty sherds of various fabrics were tested. The problems that were encountered in dating this pottery and the procedures used to deal with them are discussd in the paper. (author)
