Test of a mass flow rate measuring spool piece in transient steam water flow

Description
A spool piece with 46 mm inner diameter containing 2 local flow turbines, 2 drag bodies, a two-beam gamma densitometer and a full flow turbine designed for measuring two-phase mass flow rate in the LOBI-installation (J.R.C. Ispra) was tested in transient steam water flow (blowdown). The mass flow rates, calculated by different combinations of the 6 instrument readings have been compared with the mass flow rate measurement of a True Mass Flow Meter. The results are presented and interpreted in the report. (orig.)

Eine Messstrecke mit einem Innendurchmesser von 46 mm, bestueckt mit Messgeraeten, die im LOBI-Kreislauf (GFS-Ispra) zum Einsatz kommen, wurde in instationaerer Zweiphasenstroemung (Blowdown) getestet. Die Massenstroeme, die durch Kombination der Messwerte der zwei Dragbodies, zwei Local-Flow-Turbinen, einer Full-Flow-Turbine und einem Zweistrahl-Gamma-Densitometer gewonnen wurden, wurden mit der Referenzmessung eines True Mass Flow Meters verglichen und interpretiert. Die Messung des 2-Strahl-Gamma-Densitometers wurde zusaetzlich mit einem 5-Strahl- und einem 6-Strahl-Gamma-Densitometer verglichen. (orig.)
