Construction of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station Unit No.3
Description
Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 3 called 2F-3 Plant (1,100-MW BWR plant), The Tokyo Electric power Co., Inc., was put into commercial operation last June. Constructed with Toshiba as the main contractor, the plant is the first Japanese improved standard plant having many new design features applied. Its construction has been completed in 52.7 months since the rock inspection - the world record of 1,100-MW BWR plant. With this unit and next Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1, the number of BWR units completed by Toshiba totals 12 (9,473 MW). Description is made here of the highlights in the design, construction and the test operation of 2F-3. (author)
