On the quantitative description of the effect of extragent structure on its extraction ability
Creators
Description
It is shown that quantitative data on extraction of microamounts of Am, Cm, Cf, and Es from nitrate solutions with nitrates of tertiary alkylamines of different structure can be expressed by linear equations with two parameters sigmasup(*) and Esub(s)sup(*) which characterize, respectively, induction and steric effects of the substituents entering the amine molecules. The effect of amine structure on extraction selectivity (distribution coefficients, βsub(1,2)) can also be expressed by linear equations. The comparison of the coefficients in these equations makes it possible to evaluate approximately for different series of extraction systems, a relative contribution of induction and steric effects into a selectivity change under the action of amine structure
