The theoretical assessment of rock destruction under the influence of a series of underground nuclear explosions at Balapan ground

Based on Sedov-Neiman theory a strong explosions, calculation of rock destruction were conducted for the underground area within Semipalatinsk nuclear test site under the influence of a series of nuclear explosions in bore-holes. 3D simulations of the increased volumes were created, being the sum of natural porosity and rock induced activity. The results were presented as maps at different depths and sections that were compared with geophysical data in the area. (author)
