Instabilities of a plasma with hot electrons in the 'Ogra-4' and 'Ogra-4K' open traps

Description
Instabilities related to an electron-hot plasma produced by the heating on electron cyclotron resonance are analyzed. Two principally different magnetic systems are compared: baseball and cusp. It is shown that anithotropic electron cyclotron instability develops identically in both devices. Global instability of diamagnetic signal separation is found in the cusp; this instability can be stabilized by an additional controlled gas bleed-in
