Description

The European Directive on Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC-Directive) was adopted by the Council in 1966 and lays down a framework within which Member State and local authorities issue operating permits. The purpose of this Directive is to secure a high level of protection for the environmental as a whole at specified industrial installations by using best available techniques (BAT). (Author)
