Thermo-mechanical analysis of Super-Phenix's secondary pumps

  • 1. Compagnie Internationale de Services en Informatique (CISI), 75 - Paris (France)

Description

SUPER-PHENIX is the french fast breeder, built near the towns of Lyon and Grenoble. The used technology is recent: the pressures are relatively low but the temperature are very high (more than 4000C) JEUMONT-SCHNEIDER is the constructor of the secondary pumps and has asked to the structural analysis department of CISI to show the good design of these pumps. The object of this study is the writing of an analysis report showing the good mechanical design of secondary pumps of the fast reactor Super-Phenix. This document is one of the parts of the safety report. In this paper we consider only the thermal loading. For these pumps, this loading is the most important. The analysis has been performed with an efficient finite element system - CASTEM- developped by the French Atomic Commission (CEA). (orig./GL)
