Method of extraction-photometric determination of indium

Description

A method of extraction-photometric determination of indium, comprising the formation of coloured complex with N,N'-dimethylindodicarbocyanine in the presence of chloride-ions and extraction of the complex formed by amylacetate, is suggested. The extraction is conducted from hydrochloric solution with pH 2-5, containing 11.5-12.5 M of lithium chloride. The amount of indium is found according to calibration diagram by measuring optical density of extract at 647 nm. Indium determination limit is 0.0028 μg/ml. 100-500- multiple amounts of Hg(2), Pb(2), Ag(1), Cu(1), Te(4), Bi(3), Pd(2), as well as 500-1000- multiple amounts of alkali and alkaline earth elements Al, Zn, Co, Ni, Cd, Fe(2), Cr(3), do not interfere in the determination. 2 tabs
