Hadronic cascades with energies 10 GeV to 10 TeV produced in sea water
Description
Monte Carlo simulations of hadronic cascades developing in sea water have been carried out for the energy range 10 GeV to 10 TeV. Results for the longitudinal and radial development of the energy deposition are presented, as is a scaling law for the lateral spread. The Cerenkov photon emission of the cascades has been determined from the distribution of cascade particle pathlengths. The photon source distributions are presented as functions of longitudinal depth and angle with respect to the cascade axis
