The order for enforcing the law on indemnity agreement for compensation of nuclear damage

Description

The order is defined under the law on indemnity agreement for compensation of nuclear damage. Requisites of indemnity loss hereunder include situations that nuclear damages are not due to violation of the provisions of the law for the regulations of nuclear source materials, nuclear fuel materials and reactors, or not caused by injuries of facilities for the operation of reactors, or not the results of natural disasters or actions of a third person. The rate of indemnity charges shall be 5/10,000. The nuclear enterprisers shall notify to the government specified matters concerning indemnity agreements, including object of the use, type, thermal output, unit of reactors, etc. for agreements on the operation of reactors; name and address of the works or the enterprise where processing or reprocessing facilities are set up, etc. for agreements on processing or reprocessing; object and method, location of the use, etc. for agreements on the uses of nuclear fuel materials; route and means, time of beginning and expected time of completion of the transport, etc. for agreements on transport of nuclear fuel materials or things contaminated by them. Indemnity charges shall be paid to the national treasury at the day of conclusion of the agreements and in the amount for a year from the date. The Director General of Science and Technology Agency shall pay indemnity on request in 30 days from the date of requirement of the enterprisers. (Okada, K.)
