Slow positron electrostatic system (SPES) of new design

  • 1. Politecnico di Milano (Italy). Ist. di Fisica

Description

A fully electrostatic low energy positron source has been built and is currently under test. The source will allow the operation of a positron beam with good definition of the geometrical properties (beam size and divergence). The electrostatic monochromator will allow selection of beam energy spread from 0.1 eV to 1.0 eV. The beam energy will be variable over a wide range (10-1000 eV) with constant beam energy width and geometrical characteristics. (Auth.)
