Coulomb correlation effects in the spin polarized band structure of Eu2O3
Description
Two spin polarized band structures of Eu2O3 with and without considering Coulomb correlation effects are calculated. The exchange potential depending on the fractional spin direction locates the 4f bands below the 2p ones, avoiding the 2p-4f mixing. This fact reduces sensibly the width of the occupied 4f band.
