Description

Details of CSIRO's recently installed tandem electrostatic accelerator are given. The laboratory is designed to facilitate the application of various ion beam analysis techniques, RBS, PIXE and NRA to problems in energy research and the geosciences. The two stage acceleration involving charge exchange reaction is essential in ultra-sensitive mass spectroscopy, one of the new uses of the accelerator
