The hydrogen radiation induced by OH2+ and H3+ ion bombardment

Description
The intensities of hydrogen radiation induced by energetic OH2+ and H3+ ions bombarding a polycrystalline aluminum target are measured. The radiation intensity induced from both incident ions is inversely proportional to the beam energy and the intensity of the hydrogen radiation produced by OH2+ is stronger than H3+. A velocity-dependent charge transfer process is used to interpret this result. The production of excitation for scattered particles is attributed to the mechanism of the electron promotion model
