Direct analysis of high purity materials: tantalum, and gold by laser ablation ICP-MS
Description
The problem of quantification of trace elements in high purity tantalum, platinum and gold is due to the poverty of standard reference materials and its difficult to prepare laboratory standards. Laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) is widely accepted as a rapid and sensitive technique for local and bulk multielemental analysis of conducting, semiconducting and nonconducting solid materials. A new methos is applied to quantify trace by nebulization of standard solutions combined with laser ablation of the materials as blank. Good agreement of results obtained by this methos and the available certified values of trace elements in gold (SRM 682)
