Description

Creep-rupture tests of the steel X6 CrNi 18 11 (1.4948) have been performed in the sodium loop ML-3 at 550 and 600 0C. The steel was tested in the welded state and as base material. The sodium shortened the life-time of the welded specimens. The minimum creep rates were somewhat enhanced at 550 0C. The fracture in sodium is caused by an intercrystalline action of the liquid metal. (author)
