The ambulatory ventricular function monitor (VEST): Instrumentation, data analysis and clinical application

Description
The VEST-technique is described for continuous measurement of left ventricular ejection fraction (ambulatory measurement). The improvement of the technique and of the sensitivity of the detectors within 10 years permits beat by beat recording of cardiac function and ECG. Comprehensive analysis of systolic and diastolic parameters outside hospital qualifies this examination especially in silent myocardial ischemia and for interventional cardiology. (orig.)

Beschreibung der VEST-Technik zur kontinuierlichen Messung der Ejektionsfraktion des linken Ventrikels. In den letzten 10 Jahren wurden Methode und Detektorsensitivitaet so verbessert, dass jetzt Herzfunktion und EKG fortlaufend (pro Herzschlag) messbar sind. Damit gelingt eine umfassende Analyse der systolischen und diastolischen Herzventrikelfunktion bei ambulanten Patienten. Klinische Bedeutung koennte diese Untersuchungsmethode - in Ergaenzung zum Langzeit-EKG - bei stummer Myokardischaemie und in der interventionellen Kardiologie erlangen. (orig.)Additional details
