Reversion to normal leaf type in a radiation-induced mutation of Vitis rotundifolia

Creators

Description

Apparently normal-leaved shoots occurring on a 9-year-old radiation induced mutation of grape (Vitis rotundifolia, Michx.) were asexually propagated and compared with the original cultivar. The normal-leaved 'reversion' of the irradiated plant was indistinguishable from the original cultivar except for a significantly higher percent seed germination and thicker spongy parenchyma cells in the original cultivar.
