Heavy quark production in jets
Description
We discuss the Monte Carlo simulation of heavy quark production in high-pt jets. An algorithm is described that allows such rare processes to be studied in a realistic amount of computer time. The results of the algorithm are compared with analytical calculations for a colour-singlet source, and a fixed-order matrix-element calculation for hadron-hadron collisions. (orig.)
