Catalyss of peroxide radical disproporti.onation by transition metal complexes

Description
The results of investigations of the catalysis of chain stopping of radical-chain oxidation of organic compounds with Cd, Mo, V and Ce transition metal complexes (MLsub(m)) are considered. The MLsub(m) catalytic action depends of single-electron oXidation-reduction transformations of chain carriers (peroxyl and alkyl radicals) proceeding in the MLsub(m) coordination sphere. On the base of the analysis of kinetic regularities, composition of intermediate and finite products of oxidation of organic substrates two mechanisms of the chain stopping catalysis are substantiated which are distinguished by the reaction centre localization point in the MLsub(m) complex molecule - on ligand and central atom
