Coordination compounds of tetrachlorides of titanium, zirconium and hafnium with semicarbazides

Description
Adducts of titanium, zirconium and hafnium tetrachlorides with semicarbazide of the composition 1:1 have been synthesized. Bidentate coordination of semicarbazide is suggested on the basis of infrared spectra. Formation heats of adducts are determined by the thermochemical method. It is shown that hafnium forms stronger compounds than zirconium
