Pion form factor measurement in e+e-→π+π- reaction for energy range from 0.4 to 0.46 GeV

Description
The pion form factor was measured for center-of-mass energies within the range from 0.4 GeV to 0.46 GeV. Separation of the produced particles was realized wjth the help of the new time-of-flight method on the basis of spark counters with a localized discharge. A superhigh time resolution σ=30 psec was obtained with these counters). The results obtained for the pion form factor are in ageement with Vector-Meson-Dominance formalism prediction near the threshold of the reaction e+e-→π+π-. The pion electromagnetic mean square radius (rsub(π)sup(2))=0.366+-0.47 fm2 was obtained
