The description of the collective M1 properties of the even-odd nuclei

  • 1. Institutul de Fizica Atomica, Bucharest (Romania)

Description

An odd system of nucleons is treated in a schematic particle-core coupling model. The core is treated by the generalized coherent-state model, while the outer nucleon is moving in a spherical shell-model orbit. The two subsystems interact with each other, alternatively by a quadrupole-quadrupole and a dipole-dipole force. The two model hamiltonians are treated in the same coupling basis. The presence of the M1 state 1+ in the core basis induces a triplet state which may be excited through an M1 operator from the ground state. The application takes i13/2 as single-particle orbit. For this case, the properties of the triplet (11/2, 13/2, 15/2) predicted by the two coupling regimes are similar. (orig.)
