Sonographic and radiologic diagnosis of a pancreatic duct stone

Description
A case is reported in which asymptomatic chronic pancreatitis of initially unknown etiology was detected as result of a routine follow-up examination of a patient with membraneproliferative glomerulonephritis. Ultrasound and endoscopic cholangio-pancreatography detected a stone in the major pancreatic duct. The stone was of such size and irregular form that endoscopic extraction was impossible. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es wird ein Fall mitgeteilt, bei dem im Rahmen einer Kontrolluntersuchung nach membranoproliferativer Glomerulonephritis eine asymptomatische chronische Pankreatitis unklarer Genese festgestellt wurde. Ein dabei ultrasonographisch und mittels endoskopisch-retrograder Cholangio-Pankreatikographie diagnostiziertes Konkrement im Ductus pancreaticus major war so gross und von so kantigen Konturen, dass die beabsichtigte Extraktion bei der ERCP nicht ausgefuehrt werden konnte.
