Measurement of the eta photoproduction on the proton at photon energies up to 1150 MeV

Description

The differential cross sections for the reaction γp→ηp have been measured from threshold to 1150 MeV primary photon energy at the tagged photon facility PHOENICS of the Electron Stretcher Ring ELSA in Bonn. The experimental setup provided a large angular acceptance. The leadglass detector SPES0-2π was used to identify the photons from the η-decay, while the recoil proton was detected by the scintillation counters of the PHOENICS experiment. The measured cross sections are compared to earlier experimental results and to the predictions of a coupled channel calculation. The fit resulting from an isobar model approach is shown. (orig.)
