Liberalization of the Natural gas market. Combinations of options to anticipate for fruit-vegetable businesses

Description

The technical and economical possibilities for the greenhouse sector (section fruit-vegetables) to anticipate the liberalization process of the natural gas market in the Netherlands have been evaluated. As a result of the liberalization the structure of the tariffs for natural gas changes. The maximum gas consumption per hour will be a decisive factor for the cost of natural gas and is related to extreme cold conditions outdoors. The first anticipation option is to reduce the overcapacity. Several options to save costs are discussed

In dit onderzoek zijn combinaties van anticipatiemogelijkheden voor bedrijven met vruchtgroente op de liberalisering van de aardgasmarkt technisch-economisch geevalueerd. Combinaties van twee anticipatiemogelijkheden brengen meestal een hogere energiekostenbesparing met zich mee dan als ze enkelvoudig worden toegepast. De kostenbesparing is (duidelijk) lager als de capaciteit van het verwarmingssysteem een begrenzing vormt voor het maximumgasverbruik per uur. Dit geldt vrijwel altijd in bedrijfssituaties als er geen scherm is of als het scherm overdag open is bij extreem winterse omstandigheden. Combinaties met zware olie blijken economisch het meest aantrekkelijk. Zware olie is uit milieuoogpunt en voor het imago van de glastuinbouw minder gewenst. Als alternatief voor zware olie zijn onder gunstige omstandigheden combinaties met een energiescherm het aantrekkelijkst. Het perspectief van combinaties van anticipatiemogelijkheden is gunstiger voor bedrijfssituaties met een lager maximumgasverbruik per uur. Voor bedrijven met scherm die onder koude buitenomstandigheden het scherm overdag toepassen leveren de meeste combinaties van anticipatiemogelijkheden een extra kostenbesparing op. Naast zware olie is de combinatie van incidentele capaciteit en warmtebuffer een economisch interessant alternatief
