Description
Nuclear imaging is performed to study the function and to some extent the morphology of an organ or a part of the organ using a gamma emitting radiopharmaceutical and a suitable detector system. Most commonly used modalities are as in planar imaging, myocardial perfusion imaging, thyroid imaging, liver and gastrointestinal tract imaging, biliary tract imaging, renal imaging and brain imaging.
