Simple pulsed laser system tunable in the ultraviolet

Description
A flashlamp-pumped dye laser, operating with a 55-nsec (FWHM) pulsed output, has been used in conjunction with a 90degree phase-matched nonlinear optical crystal (ADA) to generate tunable radiation in the 290--300-nm region at power levels greater than 1 kW. (auth)
