Computed tomography of the thoracic duct

  • 1. Technion-Isreal Inst. of Tech., Haifa. Dept. of Diagnostic Radiology

Description

The thoracic duct was visualized throughout its course by computed tomography in 18 patients with Hodgkin's disease or metastatic spread of cancer. The anatomy of the thoracic duct, as demonstrated by computed tomography, was found to agree with descriptions of the duct as seen in lymphography. The relationships of the duct to other organs can be accurately assessed only by computed tomography, although visualization of fine details of the duct itself requires lymphography. (orig.)
