Fuel transporting device
Description
Purpose: To improve the reliability in the transportation of fuels by always providing duplicate or more sealing function during transportation of fuels by a fuel transporting device which connects the upper and the lower fuel pools in a reactor building with a transport pipe. Constitution: A transport pipe for communicating the upper fuel pool with the lower fuel pool is provided with an upper sealing device, an inner sealing device just below the upper sealing device and a lower sealing device always capable of sealing during fuel handling at the lower portion of the vertical transport pipe. This can always ensure duplicate or more sealing function in the fuel transportation and if any one of the sealing means is failed individually, sealing function can be kept maintained. Flow out of the upper pool water can eliminate the danger that the spent fuels are exposed to air and produce undesired irradiation exposure source. (Moriyama, K.)
