Description
Results are presented on measurements of the polarization in the reaction π-+p → π0+n in the range of four-momentum transfer 0 < t < 2 (GeV/c)2 at the incident momentum of 40 GeV/c. The polarization is positive at t < 0.4 (GeV/c)2. For the first time, an indication to a minimum in the polarization in the ''crossover'' range for the elastic π+-p scattering was obtained. Near this point the polarization magnitude is compatible with zero, within the errors. The polarization is negative in the range of ''dip'' in the charge exchange differential cross section. The obtained data do not agree with the published theoretical predictions
