Kinetic spectroscopy study of gas-phase reduction of tungsten chlorides by hydrogen
Description
Using the method of pulsed photolysis in combination with kinetic spectroscopy initial stages of WCl6 and WOCl4 reduction by hydrogen are studied. It is ascertained that photodissociation of gaseous molecules of tungsten chlorides by 300-450 nm wave length radiation proceeds with molecular chlorine splitting off and the role of hydrogen is reduced to its binding. For the processes of WCl6 molecule recombination from WCl4 and Cl2 at 400 K the measured values of the rate constant constituted (3±1)x10-13 cm3/(molecule x s), and for WOCl4 recombination from WOCl2 and Cl2 at 1100 ± 100 K the value was (2 ± 1) x 10-13 cm3/(molecule x s)
