Repairment and testing of NLW2 period card (reactor power measurement instrument)

Description

One of the reactor operating parameters are period. Reactor period is defined as the time is takes for a reactor's power to increase by a factor of e (2,71828). Card period is inside NLW2, the logarithmic reactor power measurement instrument, made by General Atomic. The Output of % power measurement is as an period measurement input. In 2010, the display of period showed the measurement failure. Repairment carried out by replacing IC 3307/12C OpAmp with IC LF351 and zero offset resistance, 500Ω. Calibration settings was done by adjusting the slope of ramp generator become 58 mV/sec. The results of the adjustment was examined on operational reactor. The display of meter period shows average reactor power changes per decade in 1 minute is 0.97DPM. (author)
