Description

Several in situ tests are being performed at the Grimsel Test Site (CH) by GSF to investigate the hydraulic and mechanical reaction in the granite to excavation, heat input and ventilation. The ventilation test serves to investigate the hydrological conditions in the direct environment of a drift to determine the macropermeability of a fractured low permeable granitic rock. In the Heater Test the influence of heat input into the granite on temperature distribution, deformation and stress field are examined. Test results concerning stress and temperature effects on the permeability of the granitic rock will be demonstrated and interpreted
