On the structure of calorimeters for the 4π-geometry detector at the UNK collider
Description
The problems of optimizing of the calorimeter structure for the 4π-geometry detector at the UNK pp-collider with √s = 6 TeV are considered. The dependence of the EmisT resolution and of the resolution of the top quark invariant mass from the decay t → bq bar q on the calorimeter performance are studied with events produced by the ISAJET event generator. In this paper it is shown, that at the energy √s = 6 TeV the detector must have a precise central calorimeter with the coverage |η| < 2 and a coarser calorimetry up to |η| = 4
