Determination of molybdenum in geological materials by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Creators

  • 1. Mount Morgan Ltd., Mount Morgan (Australia)

Description

A simple, direct method for the determination of molybdenum in geological samples by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry has been developed. The interferences caused by some common metals and acids have been investigated. The procedure is free from interferences, and at least as accurate as the thiocyanate colorimetric method at molybdenum levels below 25 mg kg-1 while still suitable for use at levels of more than 1 000 mg kg-1.
