Study of diffraction excitation of protons in the reaction K+p→K+pπ+π- at 32 GeV/c

Description
Experimental data on the production of pπ+π- systems with small mass in the reaction K+p→K+pπ+π- at 32 GeV/c are presented. Cross sections of the diffraction peaks at approx.1400 and approx.1700 MeV and their angular distributions are discussed. An attempt is made to identify the system Δ++π- with small mass produced as the result of pion exchange
