Description

Elliptic (v2) and triangular (v3) flow of charged pions (π) and v2 of kaons (K) at low transverse momenta (0.15T<0.5GeV/c) are studied as a function of event charge asymmetry (Ach) in Au+Au collisions at √(sNN)=200GeV and U+U collisions at √(sNN)=193GeV recorded by the STAR experiment at RHIC. The slope of the difference between negatively and positively charged pion v2 and v3 (Δv2 and Δv3) as a function of Ach is extracted for different centrality intervals. Comparison between the slope of Δv2(Ach) and Δv3(Ach) suggests that it is unlikely dominated by effects of local charge conservation at freeze-out. Our results provide new constraints on backgrounds in the search for effects of the chiral magnetic wave in heavy-ion collisions
