Numerical simulation of the adiabatic acceleration of electron beams

Description

The method of adiabatic acceleration of electron beams is presented and the connection between the form of the accelerating potential and the length of the accelerator is investigated. Numerical simulations of the acceleration process have been performed using a molecular dynamics approach. The influence of the adiabaticity on the longitudinal temperature and the shape of the longitudinal velocity distribution are examined
