Description

Many women who smoke tobacco continue to do so during lactation, and many non-smoking women are exposed to second-hand tobacco smoke (SHS) during the period that she wishes to breastfeed. There are reports documenting the adverse effects of maternal smoking during lactation on their infant's health; however, the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying these effects are incompletely understood.
