GasFair and Power 2001 : proceedings of the annual North American natural gas and electricity market conference and trade show. CD-ROM ed.

Description

Enerdata's 2001 annual conference and trade show brought together hundreds of delegates from the gas and electricity sector, including end-users, producers, utilities, marketers, risk managers, transporters and service providers across Canada and the United States. The topics of discussion included issues and opportunities arising from deregulation, competition and convergence in the natural gas and electricity markets. The objective was to find mutually beneficial market opportunities and to discuss emerging market challenges and strategies. It was noted that most market participants will benefit from the change to competitive markets because it creates a more level playing field. Several papers also addressed the long-term outlook for new Canadian gas supplies to eastern and midwest markets. Many of the presentations focused on the challenge facing the province of Ontario regarding the unbundling of its electric power industry and what it will mean for consumers. A total of 42 papers were presented at the conference, of which 41 have been processed separately for inclusion in the database. tabs., figs
