Topics in quantum field theory: I. Lattice fermions, II. Conformal field theory

Description

This thesis examines two independent topics. The first part discusses various proposals for lattice chiral fermions. The second part deals with conformal field theory. I study the various constraints that an operator algebra imposes on representation of a conformal field theory. Then I look at Kac-Moody algebras and their relationship to conformal field theories with extended symmetries
