Nuclear fuel rod
Description
Upon welding an end plug to a cladding tube of a PWR fuel rod, injuries of the cladding tube caused by welding are prevented in the present invention. That is, a predetermined electric insulator is interposed between a plenum spring and the end plug in adjacent therewith. With such a constitution, electric current path defined as 'cladding tube-plenum spring-end plug' other than the electric current path defined as 'cladding tube-end plug' required for resistance welding is not caused. As a result, even upon resistance welding, sparks between the plenum spring and the cladding tube can be prevented. Accordingly, this can provide remarkable effects that resistance welding can be conducted with no injuries to the cladding tube and fuel rods can be manufactured at low cost. (I.S.)
