  • 1. Department of Radiology, Wuhan General Hospital, Guangzhou Military District, Wuhan (China)

Description

Objective: To establish an improved model of Vx-2 transplanted hepatic carcinoma in rabbit liver. Methods: A piece of tumor tissue was implanted into the rabbit's liver via laparotomic route. 30 models were equally divided into three groups with different observation times, ranging for 2, 3, 4 weeks, respectively. The histopathologic and imaging findings among the three groups were comparatively studied. Results: 15 of 30 models were successfully transplanted. The 2 weeks transplanted group showed the most satisfactory results. Conclusion: By means of tumor particle implanting, the Vx-2 transplanted hepatic carcinoma model in rabbit can be achieved within two weeks. (authors)
