Description

This report is part of the project "Development of a safety and verification concept for a repository for heat-generating radioactive waste in crystalline rock in Germany" (CHRISTA-II) and describes the generic 3D model for the repository system "overlying ewG". First, the geographical and regional geological environment is presented. This is followed by a more detailed characterization of the geological model, e.g. with respect to the assumed rock properties, the structural geological setting and the hydrogeological conditions, including explanations of the rock/mountain parameters required for further calculations. Finally, the suitability of the concept "overlying ewG" with regard to long-term safety is discussed.

Abstract (German)

Der vorliegende Bericht ist Teil des Projekts "Entwicklung eines Sicherheits- und Nachweiskonzeptes für ein Endlager für Wärme entwickelnde radioaktive Abfälle im Kristallingestein in Deutschland" (CHRISTA-II) und beschreibt das generische 3D-Modell für das Endlagersystem "überlagernder ewG". Zunächst wird das geographische und regionalgeologische Umfeld dargestellt. Danach folgt die genauere Charakterisierung des geologischen Modells z. B. in Bezug auf die angenommenen Gesteinseigenschaften, den strukturgeologischen Aufbau und die hydrogeologischen Gegebenheiten inkl. der Erläuterungen der für weitere Berechnungen notwendigen Gesteins-/Gebirgsparameter. Abschließend wird die Eignung des Konzeptes "überlagernder ewG" im Hinblick auf die Langzeitsicherheit diskutiert.
