The GEMUF test and issues to the near-real-time-accountancy
Description
This paper presents a new sequential test procedure, called GEMUF test, to detect a loss of material in a sequence of accounting periods. The GEMUF test is based on the theoretically best possible, but in practice inapplicable, Neyman-Pearson tests. The idea of the GEMUF test is to estimate the unknown loss pattern by a weighted sum of MUF values. The numerical results are obtained by Monte Carlo simulations for a reference reprocessing facility with a throughput of 1000 t of heavy metal per year. They demonstrate in comparison with other sequential test procedures that this new test gives results for all considered loss patterns that are very close to the best possible results of the Neyman-Pearson tests, i.e. the GEMUF test is 'robust' to various loss patterns. The investigations show also that the GEMUF test is very 'sensitive' by virtue of its short detection time. (orig./HP)

Es wird ein neues sequentielles Testverfahren, genannt GEMUF-Test, zur Entdeckung eines Materialverlustes in einer Folge von Bilanzperioden vorgestellt. Der GEMUF-Test basiert auf den theoretisch bestmoeglichen, praktisch aber nicht anwendbaren Neyman-Pearson-Tests. Die Idee des GEMUF-Tests besteht darin, das unbekannte Verlustmodell mittels einer gewichteten Summe von MUF-Werten zu schaetzen. Die numerischen Ergebnisse werden durch Monte-Carlo Simulationen fuer eine Modellwiederaufarbeitungsanlage mit einem jaehrlichen Schwermetalldurchsatz von 1000 Tonnen erzielt. Im Vergleich mit anderen sequentiellen Testverfahren zeigen sie, dass dieser neue Test fuer alle zugrundegelegten Verlustmodelle Ergebnisse erreicht, die sehr dicht an den bestmoeglichen Resultaten der Neyman-Pearson-Tests liegen. Dies bedeutet, dass der GEMUF-Test 'robust' ist bezueglich der unterschiedlichen Verlustmodelle. Die Untersuchungen zeigen ferner, dass der GEMUF-Test sehr 'sensitiv' ist bezueglich der Entdeckungszeit. (orig./HP)
