Radiation heating of polymers. Maximum temperature assessment

Description
The formula describing the dependence of polymer maximum radiation heating on specific heat at irradiation begin, temperature heat capacity coefficient and absorbed radiation dose is obtained taking into account the linear character of polymer specific heat changing at separate temperature subranges. The results of radiation heating calculations for 64 polymers irradiated under adiabatic conditions at initial temperature of 77 and 298 K and absorbed doses up to 10 and 30 kGy are given. The ways for accounting for the corrections on heat transfer are considered for the most typical configurations of irradiated objects
